Local manufacturer honored by National Institute of Standards and Technology

(Broken Arrow, OK, 4/19/2021) As a series of videos spotlighting small to medium-sized manufacturers succeeding nationwide, the Heroes of American Manufacturing series from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) focuses on the leaders and workers who are positively impacting their own communities and the nation’s economy. NIST recently recognized local manufacturer, Rapid Application Group (RAG), to highlight the companies inspiring history.

Rapid Application Group was founded in Broken Arrow by a group of seasoned military and additive manufacturing specialists. The company was started with $1,000, napkin sketches, and a home office, resulting in unsurpassed growth over three years. With this impressive growth, Rapid Application Group is now an industry leader in additive manufacturing. Rapid Application Group is considered the only disabled, veteran-owned full production 3D printing company currently in North America.

Currently a client of the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance (the MEP Center in Oklahoma and part of the MEP National Network), Rapid Application Group was able to not only improve product quality but also quickly grow and diversify – even in an uncertain economy. As the COVID-19 pandemic spread, Rapid Application Group transitioned to creating muchneeded PPE and healthcare equipment in addition to continuing to fulfill the needs of the aerospace, motorsports, energy, and other industries across the United States.

Rapid Application Group provides application-based solutions, reverse engineering, and several design services designed to help commanders successfully fight the nation’s war. More information about Rapid Application Group’s feature in the Heroes of American Manufacturing video series can be found on the NIST website. Anyone interested in learning more about Rapid Application Group and its services is encouraged to visit the manufacturer’s official website.
